Head Teacher of Cookery at TasTAFE, Darren Scott has been a butchery specialist for over 30 years, and teaching for over 10 years.

Darren is proud of his high rates for competency and completion and finds it particularly rewarding to help students improve their technical skills and being part of their overall career development.

Besides teaching at TAFE, Darren is Tasmania’s WorldSkills Australia regional competition co-ordinator for retail butchery as well as chief judge and mentor, and has also been a WorldSkills Australia national championships judge several times since 2011.

Darren has also developed and delivered training sessions to scientists working on Antarctic expeditions.
