Employer: Taminmin College 

Brendan Flynn is an automotive trainer for Taminmin College where he teaches students in Years 10, 11 and 12. Brendan also trains young offenders at a juvenile correctional facility, and at-risk youth in the local community. He aims to help them reduce the amount of reoffending, and to prevent them becoming institutionalised by giving them self-respect and a sense of pride in their work.

When he started at Taminmin College, Brendan had little experience with teenagers, existing training programs needed to be updated and student numbers were falling. He invigorated the training by giving each student a personal project. With his guidance, his students were able to complete their projects and took great pride in their accomplishments.

Since Brendan started training at Taminmin, the automotive program has significantly grown and has impressive job outcomes. Brendan always receives positive feedback from students, confirming he is on the right track with his teaching methods.
