Karni Liddell is a disability trainer, speaker and assessor. She implements various instructional practices and modes of teaching which facilitate active learning, student participation and problem-solving skills in different learning situations. Karni is also a social worker and radio journalist. She has been appointed the Queensland National Disability Insurance Scheme Champion by the Queensland Government and works directly with the Minister for Communities, Child Safety and Disabilities.

Karni is a passionate advocate for changing people’s perceptions and attitudes towards people with disability, and works towards this through writing and public speaking and was just awarded the Pride of Australia medal.
Karni broke a world swimming record when she was 14 and won medals at the Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games. She raises awareness and funding for a range of charities and is the Queensland Ambassador for the Day of Difference Foundation, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association.
