Having had a passion for fitness since she was young, Nikki Higgins was working in the fitness industry fulltime when she was given the opportunity to teach two units from the Certificate III in Fitness at Charles Darwin University. After completing her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Nikki became coordinator of the course.

Having had a passion for fitness since she was young, Nikki Higgins was working in the fitness industry fulltime when she was given the opportunity to teach two units from the Certificate III in Fitness at Charles Darwin University. After completing her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Nikki became coordinator of the course.
Nikki has developed training modules and assessment tools and has worked through three upgrades to the Fitness training package. She has established a structured approach to the teaching of the course, as well as changing the requirements of certain practical elements of the course to allow students to increase their confidence in working with personal training clients.
Nikki’s students have been named winner and runner up in the Vocational Student of the Year Award at the NT Training Awards in 2012 and 2013 and winner in 2014, as well as winner of the VET in Schools Student of the Year Award in 2012 and 2013.
