Daniel McNamara lives his passion for teaching Outdoor Education. His intense interest in adventure and commitment to education combines to deliver excellent outcomes for his students at UC Senior Secondary College Lake Ginninderra. Drawing on his considerable knowledge and energy, Dan maximises student opportunities to participate, develop and succeed.
Dan’s extreme work environments include Western Australia’s subterranean Nullarbor caves, snow camps in the Australian Alps, and remote islands on the Great Barrier Reef. The challenges he undertakes in these places provide a model of resilience for his students that encourages their endeavours.
A combination of skills qualifications, experience and student success make Dan a sought-after practitioner in the industry. His leadership and teaching of the Outdoor Education Program have resulted in outstanding achievements for students, the college and the sector at large. Dan is working closely with the ACT Education Directorate to train the next generation of Outdoor Education teachers through the Outdoor Leadership Mentoring Program.
