Geoff Way has worked in the South Australian automotive industry for 32 years and for the last five of those years has been the Apprentice Training Manager for CMI Toyota in Adelaide.
Geoff delivers training across multiple locations for CMI Toyota across Adelaide. More recently, Geoff has led the development implementation of a new Technical Training Centre where he has recruited and trained 41 apprentices across five dealerships to assist in the future sustainability of CMI Toyota and Lexus of Adelaide.
Geoff works collaboratively with Toyota Institute Australia and registered training organisation, Kangan Institute to deliver the Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology using a variety of teaching methodologies. Geoff adapts his training delivery to suit individuals’ ability and leads by example, drawing his own learning experiences to impart knowledge to his students.
Geoff believes the key to achieving positive outcomes is heavily dependent on the trainer, and their ability to engage, motivate and encourage. Geoff promotes self-directed learning and prefers to adopt a mentoring role with his students.
