VET is a high priority for John Edwards Automotive, a family operated business in Geebung, Brisbane. Partnered with Bosch Car Service’s network, the business maintains a high standard of quality customer service and advice. Employing apprentices and participating in state government school-to-work transition programs reflects its commitment to ensuring that automotive industry technicians are fully qualified.

Owner John Edwards undertook a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to better understand the VET system and implement best practice. He also attends international trade shows, gaining first-hand knowledge of innovative practices and products to share with staff and put to direct use in the workshop. John links low staff turnover directly to the business’s extensive training opportunities for all staff. Currently employing one apprentice, John Edwards Automotive also participates in the AccelR8 program, giving Year 12 students experience in a workplace environment while working towards a Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation.
