Nate Welch has coordinated the outdoor recreation program at TasTAFE for two years and currently teaches Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation. His practical knowledge and industry experience has been gained as an outdoor instructor for a number of schools across Australia and as a guide, trainer and operations manager for businesses in Australia and Africa.
Nate’s dynamic and ever-changing teaching environment includes the challenge to deliver effective training and assessment across a broad range of skill sets while ensuring students are constantly engaged. He has re-written the Outdoor Recreation program and developed a Student Assessment Booklet that is the first of its kind in the sector and a valuable resource for students throughout their career. Students from all over the country continue to apply for TasTAFE’s outdoor recreation programs and Nate’s training reflects industry standards and provides students with real-life examples while familiarising them with responsibilities they will encounter in the workforce.
