Michelle Cowans is a literacy, language and numeracy (LLN) practitioner who explores the power of technology to transform the classroom, engage and motivate students and to help her students retain information.

For the past six years Michelle has been working in the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP), where students have very specific needs.

Michelle has taught at all levels in the AMEP, and has developed courses based on student needs, such as basic computer skills courses, resume workshops, pronunciation workshops and more.

She is a dedicated and engaging teacher, who consistently strives to help students with their settlement journey.

In making the effort to get to know her students, their skillset and background, Michelle contributes positively not only to their wellbeing and self-esteem, but also by assisting to provide real employment outcomes.
