Certificate III in Health Services Assistance

At just 18 years of age, Lucy is often mistaken for a registered nurse, thanks to her knowledge and maturity.

Commencing her traineeship at the Maitland Hospital in March last year, Lucy has found her calling, saying that nursing is an industry where she can go home knowing she has made a difference in somebody’s life.

Lucy is undertaking a school-based traineeship for a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance. She continually strives to learn and has a strong thirst for knowledge.

She feels her traineeship will open a number of pathways after school, increasing her chances of getting a part-time job in a hospital or nursing home while she studies at university.

It also contributes to her training plan, as she now has the foundations of basic nursing care, allowing her to focus on learning new skills when she begins university.
