Certificate III in Retail Operations

Year 11 student Liam Brien is undertaking an Australian School-based Apprenticeship in retail operations at KFC in Perth. While gaining practical skills and a qualification, he is also completing his WA Certificate of Education at Ellenbrook Christian College.

Through his training, Liam is developing communication, organisational and time management skills that are benefiting him both in the workplace and the classroom. At KFC, he has progressed to customer service leader and team coach roles, with responsibility for training plans, conducting skills assessments and training new staff. Being a team coach has provided Liam with the extra skills and confidence to take on other leadership positions.

Liam’s Australian School-based Apprenticeship has opened up many options for his future and he would recommend this pathway to others. He would like to undertake a university degree before entering the KFC Graduate Leadership Program and work in marketing, finance and operations in a retail environment.
