Certificate IV in Community Services Work
Leteah Mitchell followed her passion for helping people in the community, particularly those who are disadvantaged, by undertaking a Certificate IV in Community Services Work in 2015. Now completing a Diploma of Community Services, she aims to complete a degree in social work and work in the community to support people in overcoming challenges and achieving their goals in life.
Leteah finds her training rewarding, has gained new skills, strengthened her communication, team and leadership abilities and confirmed her commitment to this career path. During her Certificate IV work placement she was part of a workplace project to establish a youth drop-in centre at the Taree PCYC. The centre now provides a safe space to allow important time-out for young people who are having difficulty with the school system.
An advocate for continuing education, Leteah has successfully encouraged three of her family to enrol in certificate and diploma courses.
