Katlyn Craig is undergoing an Australian school-based traineeship while she completes Year 12 at Katherine High School. She chose disability service NT Friendship and Support because the organisation has been a huge support to Katlyn’s brother after he was diagnosed with autism and sensory disorder.

Katlyn encourages her peers to explore the option of a school-based traineeship, telling them it is one of the best opportunities to find a job you love.

She strives to be a good role model for her brothers by showing them that by staying in school and working hard, they can achieve anything.

In 2019 Katlyn was awarded the Transition to Employment Award by NT Friendship and Support. As a year 11 student, she was awarded the Rising Star Award from the Star’s Foundation and she is working towards completing her bronze certificate for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
