Dr Kate Dempsey has been working in the field of education and training for 35 years. She is the Executive Director of Victorian TAFE International Inc. (VTI), an association of 13 TAFE institutes and three dual-sector universities in Victoria. She is responsible for the production of best practice documents for the provision of international education. These are developed with all 16 of the association’s member institutes and have been widely acclaimed, with one going on to become the model for government guidelines and another winning a national best practice and innovation award.

Kate works with the members of VTI to improve the international education sector as a whole. Through working groups and collaborative networks, she ensures that all of VTI’s members participate and benefit in the development of documentation, workshops and personal development.

Kate has taught bachelor and masters degree units at Monash University and Swinburne University and is a Research Fellow at Deakin University.
