Jocylyn Cross has taught literacy, numeracy and foundation skills in and around Burnie for more than 11 years. She works for TasTAFE and has qualifications in training and assessment, education, business and IT.
Jocylyn Cross has taught literacy, numeracy and foundation skills in and around Burnie for more than 11 years. She works for TasTAFE and has qualifications in training and assessment, education, business and IT.
Jocylyn has been involved in the design and delivery of a range of programmes to engage disadvantaged learners in her community, allowing learners to create their own pathway for their learning and literacy. A number of Jocylyn’s clients have continued their learning through further education opportunities. Jocylyn has also delivered a project that allowed ten people to gain the necessary skills to establish a community newspaper.
Jocylyn mentors other language, literacy and numeracy teachers, and assists in the modification and adaption of learning resources to best suit learners.
Jocylyn is a member of the Tasmanian Council of Adult Literacy and the Australian Council of Adult Literacy. She is undertaking a Diploma in Vocational Education and Training, as well as a Masters in Education.
