Graduate Certificate in Community Services Practice (Client Assessment and Case Management)
As a senior Aboriginal worker for the Department of Children and Families, Dawn Ivinson has spent the last nine years working with vulnerable children and families. Leading a team of four Aboriginal community workers, she is committed to strengthening families, community and culture and promoting safety.
Dawn undertook a Diploma of Child, Youth and Family Intervention and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment followed by a double post-graduate qualification in Community Services Practice: Client Assessment and Case Management, and Statutory Child Protection. Training on-the-job enabled her to put her skills into practice and realise where she could have the most impact in her work. Dawn hopes to move into management, undertaking roles where she can contribute significantly to improving families’ lives.
Throughout her studies, Dawn has encouraged fellow workers to undertake training. She continues to mentor both Indigenous and non-indigenous staff by supporting them in their studies.
