After 13 years of being a registered nurse, Charise Mae Brabec wanted to find a career where she could use her creative talents. She enrolled in and completed a Certificate III in Floristry at Canberra Institute of Technology.

Charise Mae enjoyed her training as it offered a good combination of creative work, practical skills, hands-on practice, theoretical background in plant materials and a work placement opportunity.

Charise Mae did her work placement at West Row Botanica, where she was given instruction, direction and was able to develop her own style of work.

Her training also gave her the confidence to start her own business creating bespoke floral designs for weddings and events.

In her spare time, Charise Mae provides designed floral arrangements for charity organisations, which gives her great pride and gives her the opportunity to give back to the community.

She is goal-oriented, passionate, and works extra hard to achieve what she has envisioned.
