The recent global pandemic has affected the vocational education and training (VET) sector and changed how Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) delivers education and training.
CIT always looks for new ways to keep students engaged, and the pandemic took CIT into students’ homes through virtual classrooms and tutorials.
The institute is focused on supporting the ACT economy and community. Its strategic industry partnerships lead to employment outcomes for students with job-ready skills across vital service areas such as nursing, trades, cyber security and aged care. CIT has introduced courses in renewable energy and cyber security with CIT graduates already making an impact in those industries. In the past two years there has been a 285 percent increase in enrolments in cyper security courses.
CIT has consistently high learner satisfaction rates, sitting at around 90 per cent over the past ten years. Similar survey results have been seen from employers of CIT graduates.
