Bowhill Engineering is a family owned business that designs, fabricates and installs large complex structural steel for buildings, engineering constructions and specialist equipment manufacturers Australia wide.

Located a 90 minute drive from Adelaide in South Australia’s Murraylands, the company has implemented an effective internal training management plan effective for each employee on their first day of induction.

Since it became dedicated to training its staff in lean manufacturing, the company has seen huge business benefits including a rise in productivity, an increasing competitive advantage and a reduction in costs. Staff trained in the Certificate IV in Competitive Manufacturing Systems and Practices have a high skill set in manufacturing systems and are provided with a global perspective to their work.

With a fruitful relationship with TAFE SA, the company has trained 17 apprentices since 1991 with two apprentices currently in training. In 2014 Bowhill Engineering won a Telstra Regional Business Award and was a finalist in the national Telstra Business Awards the same year.
