When Ben left school at the age of 16 he faced a future of uncertainty. He took on some manual labour work before being offered a traineeship, which opened up a range of new opportunities.

Ben completed a Certificate III in Business, and a Certificate IV in Sports Development while he was a trainee with AFL SportsReady at AFL Tasmania. Ben is currently undertaking a Diploma in Leadership and Management and as he continues to work for AFL Tasmania as the Tasmanian State League Operations Manager.

Ben is very happy to be involved in the administration of the sport that he loves, especially after he had to stop playing AFL following an injury. He enjoys the combination of sport development and business.
