As a young child, Reece Jongenelis always showed a keen interest in how things worked. He would initiate and create projects about anything from the human body to car engines to dinosaurs so it seemed only natural that he would one day work with his hands.

Reece is now studying a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician while attending Marcellin Technical College and is employed by P-One Electrical. Through his Australian School-based Apprenticeship Reece has learned that to be an electrician, you not only need to be highly skilled, but also focused and adaptable as the industry changes so rapidly.

Reece takes pride in positively promoting his industry and training to his peers and wider community. As a result, he was awarded the 2015 Marist Schools Australia Scholarship which will assist him in completing his training. Reece has also appeared in the Adelaide Advertiser promoting careers in tradebased occupations.

In his spare time Reece likes to engineer and build projects through computer aided design (CAD) programs. His most recent project was a motorised winch capable of towing a water skier through the water at 40kmp/h.
