The casino offers a range of training programmes, including Certificates III and IV in Hospitality, Certificate IV in Frontline Management and Diploma in Management. The casino works with trainers to select units of competency for employees to align these with their specific job. Training is then further tailored to take into account the individual’s strengths and weaknesses. The rate of course completion is 95 per cent, up from 60 per cent two years ago. An eLearning platform is available as part of the casino’s Learning Management System and, since its introduction in March 2010, Adelaide Casino employees have completed nearly 40 000 courses via eLearning.
Employees undertaking an accredited programme spend at least five hours each month in training. Many training projects are work-based, allowing employees to apply their learning, as well as encouraging additional learning, in their departments.
