Robert's love for sport and fitness was the motivation behind him undertaking a school-based traineeship with Leisure Employment Australia and completing a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation. The traineeship provided Robert with the fundamental skills and knowledge he was seeking—in coaching, program planning and leadership. It also enabled him to enhance his communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.  

Robert has made the most of all the opportunities available to him during the traineeship and is now a qualified swimming teacher, lifeguard and children’s basketball coach. He readily shares his training journey with others, endorsing traineeships as an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while learning from qualified professionals. 

Described by his employer as a team player and leader, Robert is well on his way to fulfilling his career aspirations of becoming a physical education teacher. Robert says, “I am proud of what I have achieved so far and look forward to continuing to grow and develop my skills in the sport and recreation industry."
