Certificate III in Electrotechnology

RTO: Canberra Institute of Technology

Employer: P&T All Trades Pty Ltd

Morgan completed her Certificate III in Electrotechnology with Canberra Institute of Technology. She began working in aged care as a nurse, but then decided to change careers and start an electrical apprenticeship with P&T All Trades Pty Ltd. Morgan saw the opportunity to gain an electrical license as an essential condition to creating her own business. She also took on the opportunity to enter a traditionally male industry as a mature aged student and didn’t let anything stop her.

During her apprenticeship, Morgan worked in both commercial and domestic construction. This experience reinforced her project management skills and provided her the opportunity to build an extensive network within building and construction. Morgan completed her apprenticeship and received her licence at the end of 2020.

Morgan encourages people to choose VET pathways. She volunteers at the local primary school’s ‘Trade Day’ where she teaches children basic tool skills and provides insight on working in a trade. She believes everyone can be highly successful in any field if they are provided with the right training and adopt a strong work ethic.

Morgan is determined and committed to learning. She is an advocate for people of any age or gender chasing their dreams. She describes herself as living proof that if you want something enough, you won’t let any barriers stop you.
