Lilly has always been passionate about pursuing a career in the healthcare industry. While studying year 12, Lilly studied a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance and completed her School-based traineeship at Katherine Hospital in early 2023 as part of the Northern Territory Government’s health team.  

Throughout her traineeship, Lilly gained invaluable knowledge and experience of the day-to-day processes in a hospital and how clinicians work collaboratively together in the workplace. She learned the importance of communication, empathy, and teamwork in achieving positive patient outcomes. Her traineeship also taught her a greater appreciation for the role that healthcare professionals play in improving people’s lives.  

Lilly is passionate about making a meaningful contribution and bringing her skills to her community. Her goal is to study a Bachelor of Medicine. Lilly’s traineeship has given her the confidence to overcome any challenges. She feels lucky to have had excellent support from her colleagues and mentors throughout her traineeship, and she now looks to advocate for others to consider vocational education and training pathways in the NT.
