Completing an apprenticeship in Electrotechnology Electrician with MEGT and host employer Bell Bay Aluminium has been a transformative experience for Jake. As someone who enjoys problem solving, Jake specifically chose to study industrial electrotechnology for the challenges it presents.  

Jake’s apprenticeship has taught him a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety, innovation and sustainability. He has grown in confidence and competence, surprising himself in how much he is capable of. Completing his qualification has also enhanced his contribution to his workplace, Bell Bay Aluminium. In 2022, Jake was recognised for his contribution as an apprentice, by co-winning the George Town Chamber of Commerce Apprentice of the Year Award.  

A key highlight from Jake’s time studying and as an apprentice, was the experienced electricians who mentored him, and helped shape the electrician he is today. In the future, Jake hopes to be a positive impact for new apprentices, by being that mentor for them.
