Emily Jones joined the Greater Hume Council as a Customer/Library Service and Youth Development Trainee while completing her HSC and studying a teaching diploma.

Emily has mastered all aspects of library services, customer service information, project planning and the need to be flexible in an industry that’s continually changing due to the impact of technology.

Emily’s social media skills have brought the council’s youth and library services into the 21st century. She has held in-house training sessions and developed a social media plan for the library.

Emily has mentored other trainees and instigated four new youth advisory committees in the wider region. The committees organise events and address social issues that impact young people.

At the end of her traineeship, Emily won a full-time position as a Youth Officer at the Greater Hume Council.
