David Collins PSM is a visionary and strategic leader, with the impact of his significant leadership being realised at the policy and practical level. He has crafted a vision for VET and skills which is future-looking and has influenced policy and practice nationally.
Since 2005 David has held many roles with the NSW Department of Education, and is respected and recognised as a leader by skills industries, stakeholders and interest groups for the breadth of his skills knowledge and his experience in leading vocational training in NSW.
David was responsible for the development and implementation of the Smart and Skilled reforms, which was the largest and most far reaching reforms of government-funded VET undertaken by a NSW Government in over 20 years.
In 2018 David was awarded the Public Service Medal in recognition of his leadership and outstanding contributions which have shaped the NSW vocational education and training system into the world class system it is today.
