The vision of small employer Crusader Homes is to build low cost, high quality homes in the Derwent Valley region.

Principal Contractor and Director Justin Derksen was working in a casino when he decided to undertake an apprenticeship as a mature age student. This saw him go from a back-of-a-ute builder, to the biggest builder in New Norfolk.

Justin said he aims to give the young apprentices an enjoyable experience, where they make tangible achievements so they are always employable.
 
Crusader Homes employs locally to give the people in their hometown a greater opportunity for employment. With the Derwent Valley’s unemployment rate being at around eight percent and the youth unemployment being around 19 per cent, Crusader homes strives to give young people a purpose.
