Clennett’s Mitre 10 Retail Trainee Program was created with the purpose of providing meaningful long term employment opportunities in the retail sector to disadvantaged youth in the Tasmanian communities of Mornington, Kingston and Huonville.
In partnering with youth charity, Whitelion, and group training organisation, MEGT, Clennett’s Mitre 10 Retail Trainee Program offers Certificate II in Retail traineeships to young Tasmanians who have encountered barriers to employment.
Clennett’s Mitre 10 Retail Trainee Program is designed to give young people the skills and experience they need in retail to secure their future and become part of Clennett’s Mitre 10’s next generation of leaders.
Clennett’s Mitre 10 has a long and proud history as an employer in Tasmania, with the Clennett family opening its first timber business in the 1940s and its first hardware store over 36 years ago. It now has three retail outlets and employs over 180 employees.
