CathWest Innovation College, a Catholic systemic high school with campuses in Mount Druitt and Emu Plains, New South Wales (NSW), is school done differently, with multiple pathways at the heart of its vocational education and training ecosystem. CathWest works hard to ensure their graduates are job ready, resilient, and possess strong skills such as problem solving, working in a team, and communicating effectively.
Catering to NSW students in years 10 to 12, Cathwest offers numerous qualifications for students to study, such as construction, volunteering, hospitality, carpentry, retail, and animal studies. School-based Traineeships and Apprenticeships, internships and work experience, short courses during school holidays, flexible learning through a hybrid of online and in-person teaching, and more, are all on offer at Cathwest.
CathWest is committed to the personalised learning and pathways of their students. The aim is for students to develop the skills and knowledge while at school so they can effectively transition to work, further education, and training. To improve language, literacy and numeracy, Cathwest added the Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways to their course options in 2021.
Ultimately, Cathwest strives to offer safe and engaging learning environments for all students, providing them with opportunities to develop skills that they will draw on for the rest of their lives.
