With his father an automotive mechanic, Brenden Williamson’s love of motorcycles is in his blood. At only 18, Brenden is already living his dream as a second year Australian School-based Apprentice studying motorcycle mechanical technology.
Brenden secured his Australian School-based Apprenticeship through the Yamaha Student Grand Prix Partnership created due to the skills shortage of experienced technicians in the marine and motorcycle industry. His employer, On Two Wheels Motorsports, has already given Brenden some important skills for his future career including experience with parts and accessories and dismantling, fixing, maintenance and re-building of motorcycles.
Already a keen ambassador for Australian School-based Apprenticeships, Brenden has been interviewed by his local paper and ABC news about the benefits of training on the job while still at school. He has also been working with Yamaha Student Grand Prix to mentor its new recruits.
