2: Respond to the selection criteria
Carefully read the selection criteria for your category. Use the prompts under each selection criteria to help you write your response
3. Tell the story
Include specific examples using the STAR model to illustrate how you/your nominee has achieved each criterion.
- Situation – set the scene, describe the who, what, when.
- Task – describe the objective, issue, or obstacle.
- Action – describe what you/your nominee did and how.

4. Use the word limit
Use as much of the word limit as possible and provide as much detail as you can in your examples.
5. Avoid using slang, jargon or acronyms
The judges come from a wide range of industries and backgrounds. To ensure they understand your nomination, avoid using jargon, acronyms or slang. Make sure you clearly explain any industry specific terms and write acronyms in full the first time.
6. Avoid repetition
Try to use different examples for each criterion where possible.
7. Make the most of your attachments
Judges will not score your attachments but it’s important to make sure to include strong supporting evidence and letters of recommendation. It’s also important to review the attachment limit for your category as judges will not be sent any attachments over the limit.
8. Submit your nomination today
Nominations that have been started but not submitted cannot be considered for judging so make sure you submit your nomination as soon as possible! After submitting, you can continue to edit your nomination until the closing date. If you have created test nominations or duplicates, please remember to delete them to avoid confusion.
9. Review your nomination before the closing date
Get feedback from friends, family or colleagues and proofread your nomination before the closing date.
