Founded in 2015, My Kingdom for a Horse is a city-based licensed café and coffee roastery that employs the equivalent of 12 full-time staff. In mid-2020, the business expanded to a second location, retaining all existing staff and creating opportunities for new team members—some unable to return home overseas due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Founder and qualified chef, Emily’s particular area of interest is retaining talent in the hospitality industry and elevating existing training for team members. Emily believes that a strong foundation in hospitality is one that is respected as a valid career choice and supported by employers with high quality training, mentorship and encouragement.
