Rekeisha is a Whadjuk Noongar woman from Perth. She started her career in beauty therapy and hospitality, however felt the need to try something new and applied for a traineeship with the Department of Training Workforce Development.

Studying for a Certificate III in Government and working as a trainee service desk officer has taught her many things about the behind the scenes world of ICT.

Rekeisha said her traineeship gave her the skills to deal with new challenges, and since completing her studies, Rekeisha has become a mentor and support person to two new Indigenous trainees.

With a passion for learning new skills, Rekeisha wants to shine a light on positive work outcomes for Indigenous people. It all starts with one person and Rekeisha wants to be that person.
