Rachael completed diplomas in Community Services and Justice while she was juggling commitments as a wife, primary carer and parent.

Rachael left school after completing Year 10 and returned to education aged 48 and has relished the opportunity to start learning again. She thoroughly enjoyed every moment of her studies and graduated with high distinctions. Rachael was Kangan Institute’s 2018 Overall Student of the Year.

Now a Corrections Officer at Ravenhall Correctional Centre, Rachael hopes that by sharing her experiences the prisoners she works with will be encouraged and motivated to take the first steps to build new and meaningful lives in society.
