Jack Kay completed a Certificate II in Engineering while still at school, and was so successful that he was awarded VET Student of the Year not only by his high school, but also at the Riverland and Mallee Vocational Awards. Enjoying the course, he decided to pursue further studies the following year, and enrolled in a Certificate III course at TAFE SA.

Currently completing his apprenticeship as a diesel automotive specialist at Morgan Dockyards, Jack works to maintain ferries and hopes to contribute his ideas to improving South Australia’s ferry systems in the future. He also aspires to starting up his own business.
Jack plays football at his local club, and is an active volunteer in his community. He is involved with the basketball club and the high school’s Building and Grounds Committee, and has previously been on the committee of the local international food fair.
