Certificate III in Carpentry
While volunteering on a rural project during his Bachelor of Design (Architecture) studies, Ashley Brown was attracted to the hands-on aspects of the project. He enjoyed the designing, building and sourcing of materials and realised that an apprenticeship would give him the practical skills and technical theory necessary to ensure his success in the industry. After completing his degree, Ashley began an apprenticeship with an architect/builder and undertook a Certificate III in Carpentry. He is currently continuing his professional development by undertaking a Certificate IV in Building and Construction after which he plans to begin his Masters of Architecture.
Ashley’s long-term goal is to create a design and construction business with his wife. His carpentry apprenticeship and continuing vocational studies in this field were the catalyst for what has been a very rewarding career path so far. He values the practical, supportive nature of vocational training and would encourage others to consider a similar pathway.
