Certificate III in Dental Assisting

Year 12 student Dimiti Andresen is an Australian School-based Apprentice at Centralian Senior College in Alice Springs. Beginning a Certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2015, Dimiti now has a full-time position with the Northern Territory Government’s Oral Health Services branch. She is also undertaking a Certificate III in Business through her school and Charles Darwin University, enabling her to work full-time while remaining school-based to achieve her Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training.

During her Australian School-based Apprenticeship, Dimiti has gained an understanding of procedures and treatments and how best to support the dentists as well as assisting with practice administration. She enjoys the challenge of busy days and has gained confidence in communicating effectively with health clinic staff and patients of different cultures and ages. When her studies are complete, Dimiti hopes to travel overseas and volunteer in developing countries as a health care worker.
