Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology

James Schifferle, a Year 12 student at Swan Hill College with an interest in computers and electronics, was excited to find his school could offer a VET course specific to his interests and able to earn him credits towards his VCE.

James had commenced his VET course in Year 10 so when his school advertised for an apprentice to work in their IT department, he had already completed a few work placements. Keen to increase his knowledge by working with an experienced team in a real life environment, he successfully applied for the Certificate II in Business Services position at the beginning of 2015.

Now working in the IT department one day a week, James is completing the third and final year of his Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology. As an RTO, Swan Hill College is also delivering his training. James plans to continue his IT studies at university next year.
