Certificate IV in Retail Management

Josiah Clayton’s initial experience of the retail industry was in an after-school job. Inspired by his first manager to make retail his career, he pursued ways to develop his skills and readily accepted his employer’s offer to undertake training.

Employed by Mount Barker IGA, Josiah enjoys the business’s independence and community focus. He has completed his Certificate II in Retail (Quality Training and Hospitality College) and Certificate IV in Retail Management (Master Grocers Association) with his training providing a solid grounding in skills that can be transferred to any management-related work.

Josiah continues to achieve his ambitions by setting goals, working hard and persevering. He hopes, one day, to start a business that helps troubled teenage boys growing up without fathers. Josiah was the 2015 Achiever of the Year S.A., an award given for excellence in his area of work, and in 2016 the department he manages was awarded Best Fresh Produce for South Australia.
