Diploma of Business Administration

Francine Ikirezi, from Rwanda, grew up in refugee camps before immigrating to Australia. Employed at an aged care facility and having completed Certificate III and IV in Aged Care, she wanted to develop her customer service, computer and business skills to explore the possibility of joining the facility’s administration team.

Francine travelled from Goulburn to Bankstown each week to complete her Diploma in Business Administration and did not let her lack of previous education and literacy skills limit her success. Not having a computer at home, she spent many hours at the library to gain the skills and knowledge needed to complete her work and has shown outstanding persistence and dedication to study.

Through her training, Francine has gained independence and self-confidence. She would like to continue her studies and has already completed some units towards a Diploma of Nursing. Always interested in helping others, her goal is to one day set up an aged care facility in Rwanda.
