Before reaching her mid-twenties, Morgan Clementson had tried careers in hospitality, information technology, retail, automotive repair and human resources before finding her true calling in baking at age 27.
At TAFE NSW – Illawarra Institute she graduated with distinction from both her Certificate III in Food Processing (Retail Baking – Combined) and her Certificate III in Food Processing (Bread).
Morgan has won prizes for her pastries including the 2012 Baking Association Apprentice Pastry Cook of the Year and the Best Student Apprentice at the 2012 Royal Easter Show (meat pie division).
Morgan has completed her Australian Apprenticeship with Jones the Grocer and is also studying a Certificate IV in Small Business Management as part of TAFE NSW – Illawarra Institute’s Vocational Scholarship program.
Morgan plans to one day open her own bakery on the New South Wales south coast, where she will employ and mentor Australian Apprentices of her own. In her spare time, Morgan volunteers for the State Emergency Services.
