Ryan D’Souza always had an interest in civil and mining opportunities, but it wasn’t until he began a traineeship at Macmahon Holdings that he realised how far he could take this interest.

In early 2013 Ryan completed a Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations, which he did through Macmahon Holdings, in conjunction with its Indigenous employment centre, Doorn Djll Yoordaning.

Ryan’s traineeship offered a variety of choices, allowing him to work in different areas of construction. It wasn’t long before he realised that engineering and planning is where his passion lay and this was recognised by Macmahon Holdings who offered him an engineering cadetship. Ryan is currently working his way towards a Bachelor of Engineering.

Ryan now promotes the Macmahon Holdings and Doorn Djll Yoordaning’s training program within his own circle and wider community, and was chosen by the collaboration to be the face of the traineeship in The West Australian.
