Joshua began his pre-apprenticeship course at central coast electricity provider Ausgrid with basic literacy and numeracy skills. With self belief and the support of his employer and training provider, he went on to complete an Australian Apprenticeship and is now a fully qualified Electrical Linesman for Ausgrid.
Joshua has not only transformed his own life over the last five years but also the lives of many other young Indigenous people. He is involved in Ausgrid’s ATSI Pre-Apprenticeship Program where he actively mentoring and supporting new students.
Josh was awarded the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year Award at the 2011 Australian Training Awards.
