The Barangaroo Skills Exchange (BSX) has been established to provide the required training and skilling needs of on-site workers at the Barangaroo South urban regeneration project.
Construction at Barangaroo is expected to take 10 years. Over this time, the BSX expects to provide 10 000 people with accredited qualifications, ensure that 20 per cent of all skilled trade work on-site is performed by people undertaking an Australian Apprenticeship or traineeship. BSX will also provide 50 000 learning outcomes and provide 500 Indigenous workers with capacity and capability in the construction and related industries. BSX delivers national qualifications ranging from Certificate I to Advanced Diploma, as well as a range of literacy, numeracy, workplace health and safety, personal health awareness, first aid and leadership programmes.
BSX takes a flexible approach to training and assessment, and training is contextualised for both the job and the individual.
