Founded in 1907, Bendigo Senior Secondary College has over 1750 students and is the largest provider of Vocational Education and Training in Schools in Victoria. Its mission is to empower learners for individual, community and global leadership.
Delivered through its on-site registered training organisation, external partnerships and the Bendigo Schools Trade Training Centre, the College provides all Year 11 and 12 students with access to 22 nationally recognised vocational education and training (VET) courses at Certificates II and III level. Through programmes linking learning, training and employment, students are able to choose pathways and specialist development in areas including health and community services, skilled services, commerce and information technology, recreation and environments, visual and performing arts.
The College runs a highly regarded work placement programme. Students are able to participate in structured workplace learning with local businesses and undertake Australian School-based Apprenticeships.
The College was a finalist in the School Pathways to VET Award at the 2011 and 2014 Australian Training Awards.
