Katherine Masson became fascinated with dental technology when working as a dental nurse and observing dental appliances being constructed by a visiting orthodontic technician. With a keen interest to diversify into this field, Katherine took up a dental technology traineeship in 2012 with NECA Education and Careers, RMIT and host employer, Tasmanian Health Service – Prosthetic Dental Services North.

With a keen interest to diversify into this field, Katherine took up a dental technology traineeship in 2012 with NECA Education and Careers, RMIT and host employer, Tasmanian Health Service – Prosthetic Dental Services North.
After completing her traineeship in 2014, Katherine gained full time employment as a Dental Technician with Tasmanian Health Service – Prosthetic Dental Services North where she has a range of responsibilities including making and trimming models and special trays, setting up full and partial dentures and conducting repairs.
Katherine is now mentoring and assisting trainees within her department and in the future she hopes to gain further experience in more in depth orthodontic procedures.
In her spare time, Katherine is a keen mountain bike racer and is an active member of the Launceston Mountain Bike Club.
