When Caitlin Maher began a two year course in VET Allied Health whilst in Year 10, she was able to experience first-hand the work done by nurses in the fields of women’s health, cardiology and pediatrics. A later placement at Blue Cross Willowmeade aged care residence confirmed her passion for the health industry and she was very pleased to secure an Australian School-based Apprenticeship with Blue Cross.

Caitlin is now balancing her Certificate III in Aged Care studies at Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE with her secondary studies at Assumption College Kilmore, with the goal of enrolling in a Bachelor of Nursing upon completion of her Victorian Certificate of Education.
Caitlin is a keen advocate for vocational education, talking with parents and visitors at her school’s open days about the opportunities that are available through the school. She has played netball since primary school, and has assisted with coaching a junior team at her school.
